Structurally deficient I-80 bridges
xm2020DRONEi80bridge1.JPG
The three most-traveled bridges in Sacramento County that are designated “structurally deficient” are on Interstate 80 north of downtown Sacramento. The eastbound bridge at this location, photographed by drone on Feb. 7, 2020, crosses over Steelhead Creek and some railroad tracks near Northgate Boulevard, and handles 170,000 crossings per day. The designation does not mean they’re unsafe to use, but implies repairs should be made soon, according to Caltrans.
